Citala, a leader in flexible displays, launches a new brand and web site to spotlight innovation. (Sunnyvale CA, 6/16/2008) Citala, a leader in flexible displays, has launched a new brand and web site featuring the company’s flexible display and optical shutter technology as applied to smart cards, active keypads, privacy windows, home appliances, and more. Citala’s new brand is based on a flexible-looking logo, revised print collateral, and re-focused mission statement. The new web site provides information about the company’s technology – flexible displays and optical shutters – and the main applications of this technology to smart cards, active keypads, as well as optical shutter products for privacy windows and home appliances. The web site also includes customer testimonials and technical application notes. The company’s tagline, “enabling flexible displays,” reflects Citala’s commitment to empowering customers with technology that breaks the design constraints of glass-based displays. Citala’s APD™ technology is flexible, reflective, thin, durable, low-power, and lightweight with color and unparalleled readability. “The market for flexible displays is at a historical inflection point,” says Ronen Lin, Citala’s CEO. “Integrated with flexible electronic circuitry, flexible displays are changing the way industrial designers approach the design of new products and devices. With flexible display technology, new products no longer have to be limited by the constraints of rigid and breakable materials. Citala’s flexibility enables displays that can accommodate almost any design, shape, and environmental condition.” APD™ technology is based on the company’s proprietary Onyx™, a high-performance and robust material, currently applied to smart card displays, interactive keypads and control panels, as well as to privacy windows. The self-encapsulating OnyxTM can withstand humidity and harsh environmental conditions. Citala’s flexible display material is manufactured in Sunnyvale, CA using a modern roll-to-roll production process. Adds Mr. Lin, CEO: “Our extensive experience in roll-to-roll manufacturing of flexible displays results in high-yields on wide formats with long runs. The new corporate brand and web site were designed to clearly communicate the benefits of Citala’s technology, its manufacturing reliability, and the company’s flexible customization for its OEM customers and partners.” The new corporate ID and brand were designed by the renowned marketing services group Tamooz Communications (Geneva Switzerland and Tel-Aviv Israel). A leader in flexible displays, Citala is the pioneer of the Active Pixel Display (APD™)—a flexible reflective display that represents a paradigm shift in the display arena. The company’s proprietary technology offers a host of benefits, including true flexibility to capture limitless design opportunities. The company’s thin and flexible displays offer exceptional reflective readability, low power consumption, and interactive capabilities. Citala’s flexible display technology enables the creation of innovative products across a wide range of markets such as smart cards, portable electronics, home appliances, health care, handheld devices, sports equipment, signage, architecture, and more. Citala is the first in the display industry to leverage a roll-to-roll manufacturing process, which enables the cost-effective, high-volume production of customized displays. Citala is privately held and headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, with a wholly owned subsidiary located in Sunnyvale, California. For more information on the company, please visit www.citala.com |
